ABSTRACT
This study tries to find out the perceived role of biology students in the control of HIV/AIDS in selected tertiary institutions in Kaduna state. Primary data were used to get relevant information from the research question for the purpose of the study. Three tertiary institutions in Kaduna state were randomly selected for the research work. Research questionnaires were used in collection of data. The Data collected were analyzed using percentage distribution measures, related pie chart and bar charts. The results show that the students are quiet knowledgeable about the disease (HIV/AIDS). Majority of the respondents are aware of HIV/AIDS, despite the fact of the high rate of awareness of HIV/AIDS, many have not been applying their knowledge for prevention and control of the spread of the disease. The following recommendations were made, Introduction of sex education and adequate guidance and health counseling for tertiary schools.
