ABSTRACT
This study investigated the impact of resources utilization on students’ academic performance in Lafia Local Government Area. A descriptive research was adopted. Five schools were randomly selected from the aforementioned Local Government Area in Nasarawa State. A research Questionnaire was adopted to collect factual and perceptual information from the principals and teachers of the selected schools. Simple percentage calculation and Pearson product moment correlation statistics were used for data analysis.
The study found out that there were no enough educational resources in the selected schools. Human, financial, physical and material resources were found to influence students’ academic performance.
It was recommended that government, parent and private individual should come together to provide educational resources to all institutions of learning for effective teaching and learning. Teacher should be encouraged to attend seminars, workshops and on-the-job training to update their knowledge for efficiency and effectiveness on their jobs. Ministries of Education should also make conscious and continuous efforts to provide basic amenities such as well equipped library, laboratories, furniture and should also ensure its effective utilization.
