ABSTRACT
The study investigates the impact of Personnel Management on teachers’ Job Performance in Katsina Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Teachers constitute the main workforce in formal education. One cannot talk of formal education at the classroom level without talking of teachers.
An Instrument designed and validated by the researcher was used in gathering data. A research questionnaire was prepared and data were analyzed based on the opinions elicited from the questionnaire using Pearson Moment Correlation.
Result showed that Personnel Management significantly impacts on Teachers’ Job Performance.
It was recommended that the school head adopt the most appropriate leadership style to ensure a conducive working environment. It was also recommended that there should be an adequate interview conducted for all teachers that will be appointed so as to ensure that the right calibers of personnel are recruited. The Government should equally ensure that promotions and other incentives are commensurate and provided timely to teachers to ensure satisfaction in teaching as a job.
