ABSTRACT
This study examined the influence ofPerceived Organizational Support on work behaviors of employees in Universityof Uyo. To achieve this, survey research design was adopted for the study. Datawere collected from both primary and secondary sources. Secondary source was frompublished articles and textbooks while primary source was from structuredquestionnaire. Simple random sampling technique was employed in carrying outthe study. A total of 372 respondents were selected using Taro Yemeni’s formulafor sample size determination. Data collected were analyzed using simplepercentage and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Statistical tool. Findingsshowed that perceived organizational support positively correlates withUniversity of Uyo employees’ job satisfaction and job involvement butnegatively correlates with their commitment and their desire to remain with theinstitution. Based on these findings itwas concluded that if management increases the level of concern towardsemployees’ well being, they may be perceived as being supportive, also, as agood place to work. As recommendations, management should provide employeeswith necessary tools and resources to effectively carry out their task and alsoencourage personal development of non-academic staff. This will heightenedtheir morale, increase their commitment and encourage them to remain with theinstitution for a long period of time.
